An excellent opportunity for those in the area to learn about Biblical storytelling, get ideas for using storytelling in your library or outreach. "The conference table came with the room, so to speak.  In my opinion any library needs to be as flexible in its design as possible.  I worked in one school library where 90% of the shelves were cases on wheels and we moved them to…"

"Marilyn - My church wants to remove a range of shelving and four carrels to make room for tables and chairs to hold small group sessions. This arrangement looks nice and workable (well, for your library - I think McFarlin may be a little smaller)."

Idea: Color code areas

"Definitely! I did not want to have to type or generate new labels. They are clear - some colors work better than others - stay with the pastels (yellow, pink, light blue) unless you have bold and larger labels (which I recommend to be easy on the…"

New Adventure

In January I will be taking over the task of resurrecting the church library and making it mission driven and active to the life of the congregation and the community. It will be a challenge on many fronts but I am excited by the possibilities.

My professional training is in library and information studies and I have been a school librarian, a public librarian and a higher ed librarian. The church library, I know, will be different yet fundamentals will remain the same.  I look forward to sharing and receiving insights with a ministry I feel is important and has great potential.

Right now I am reviewing the collection, discovering if there are any policies in place and the like.

I have been developing a simple webpage to use to promote the library, add book reviews, etc.   This can be linked to the church's webpage and Facepage page.

How wonderful to have a new friend!  Do you belong to the National Storytellers League? My friend, the national president, wrote the back cover for my memoirs, and you will be reading that soon!  It has 105 "stories" in it of events of my life.  I am now 94!  what a great blessing to hear from you!  Thank you so much!  The photos are BEEEUUtiful!  I am watching them over and over!  Do you check this bear out?  He would love to be checked out, but then getting him back--that would be the problem!  No child would want to take him back!  I know he loves to hear your stories--I know you will be having a storytime.  Oh, I will be so excited to hear all about your progress in the ministry you are undertaking, and what multi-blessings the Lord has in store for you!  We must keep in close touch.  i want to hear everything!  Love the idea of the chessgame--what fun to look in and see those two pondering their moves.  I know it is an adventure with the Lord and is that Eeyore that I spy there on the floor?  No, he looks too cheerful.  Well, friend, thanks again for "including " me in you circle of friends
