Questions & Answers

library open house

I am planning a open house to re-introduce the library to the church.  We have moved to a new location in the church and have updated.  I need some "open House" ideas. ThanksMarilynContinue

Mark your calendars for the TBC Fall Training. Information will be on the website very soon. Please notify others and help us promote our celebrating 50 years of library ministry in our state. Let's make this a special year!

Do you have an e-reader??  Do you know where to find Christian e-books??  Have you used PowerPoint to promote your church library??  Do you know how to archive photos on the Internet??  Do you know how to create an e-newsletter??

If your answer is NO to some or all of these questions ... then, you need to attend the March 30 and 31, 2012 in Nashville, TN ... e-Church Library Conference.  For information go to the events section.

if you have already had the open house I hope that everything went well. We have found that Food, gifts and/or prizes get people just about anywhere. they don't even have to be big.

I would like to invite you to a workshop in Alabama. I'm not sure where you are located but we are trying to reach out to surrounding states. See the attached information. If you are unable to attend the one in May, you need to make plans now to attend the Al. State Library Conference in Sept. at Shocco Springs. the information, friends, fun and fellowship will be worth the trip. 2011Central%20Alabama%20Spring%20Library%20WorkshopinfoSched.doc

The location for the Memphis area is now Bartlett Baptist Church in Batlett. It is still on Sept. 11. Other locations remain the same: Crievewood Baptist Church in Nashville on Sept. 18, Lenoir City First Baptist Church on October 9 and Morris Hill Baptist Church in Chatanooga on Oct. 23.

Please help us spread the word to others in your area--church, school and public librarians. Others in your church would also benefit from the promotion classes. They won't be disappointed.

The annual fall training events are on the calendar for Memphis, Sept. 11; Nashville, Sept. 18; Lenoir City, Oct. 9 and Chattanooga, Oct. 23. Please plan to attend and spread the word--to all library workers--church, public, or school.

Also, we are privileged to add some extra events held along with select Sunday School University Events. There is no charge involved with these meetings. Look for the appropriate date in your area.

There will be two classes at each location. They wil be taught by Affinity Team Members in each area. The classes, locations and dates area below. Please plan to attend in your area and tell others about the events.
