Our beloved sister

Please join me in lifting the family and friends of Joanna Harrison, director of the library at West End Baptist. She is going home very late tonight or early tomorrow to be with our LORD.  She will be sorely missed.

Just returned from the VA/NC joint Library conference in Lynchburg, VA at Eagle Eyrie!  Great teachers, authors and attendees!  We are now planning our 2016 workshops.  Stay tuned for further news!

Good Morning everyone. Here working on the BUDGET wow always a trip.

I had a budget form I was using but I would like to know what other templates are out there for libray. Anyone got a form they like that they wouldn't mind sharing?

Thanks, Laura!  I appreciate your feedback.  I am not IT savvy, so I'm not sure I can go that route.  We no longer have an in-house IT expert, regrettably.  Do you know anything about cloud computing?  I'm googling it and finding some info, but would like to know if anyone here has actually tried it.  I just read about Evergreen last evening, so I will explore some more.  Again, thanks, and God bless you.

Hi Christina, My 3,000 volume library is currently in the process of transitioning to Evergreen open source software. It takes an adept IT person to set it up, but now that it is set-up, I am loving the features and functionality. It is highly customizable and has a strong support community that welcomes all.

New Question:  Does anyone have an opinion on the use of either cloud computing or open source software to manage and operate a 5,000 volume library?  Thank you in advance!

Hello Ladies,

Are any/all of the three NC conferences available on CD/DVD for sale?  Or will video segments be posted on this site under videoes?  I have been ill and was unable to attend.  Thanks for your reply.

Dear NC church librarians, I am in Az now visiting my kin.  Having a great time. I feel very close to all of you because I taught for several years at the beautiful state conference center, and then I did the eastern part of the state on one conference and the western part at another conference!  Is there anyone out there who still remembers the one we had in a steady downpour of hard rain and some drove for hours to attend?  I stayed and signed books afterward.  Happy new year to all of you.  Mackie

Please consider carpooling to bring others who might not have a chance otherwise!  This was suggested on the main page and I think  should all try to do this!  I have room for 2  more!

I thought I was joining the NC Libraries, but now I realize it was the Church Librarians Network, which I assume NC Libraries is a part of.  At any rate, I'm in the right place since I reside in NC and am in the beginning process of developing a small church library with a classical homeschool section included.

On CLN's Q&A section, I asked if anyone might be able to let me ride with them to one of the training workshops.  I live in Albemarle, Stanly County.  I'd be glad to help with gas expense.  Please, if this is something you can assist with, email me at moxie_1956@yahoo.com.  Thanks.

Merry Christmas to all!
